SVSU students to teach kids to draw comics

A group of Saginaw Valley State University students, the SVSU Comic Strippers, will host a free workshop on drawing comics for youths, ages 7 to 17. The workshop will take place Saturday, March 18, starting at 11 a.m. at Butman-Fish Library, 1716 Hancock in Saginaw.

Saginaw Valley State University’s Cardinal Singers will perform in concert Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall. The concert will feature selections from composers Scott Tuttle, Ivor Davies, Arthur Sullivan, and Henry Purcell.

SVSU to host Advocates for Latino Student Advancement Conference

Saginaw Valley State University will host some 500 high school students from across Michigan for the 14th annual Advocates for Latino Student Advancement in Michigan Education (ALSAME) Conference Friday, Oct. 21. The event will be held in SVSU’s Ryder Center and Curtiss Hall; it runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
