SVSU recognized as a top producer of Fulbright Scholars, enriching student learning

Saginaw Valley State University has earned national recognition for its leadership in international and intercultural education. The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs named has named SVSU a Fulbright Top Producing Institution for U.S. Scholars. This recognition is given to the U.S. colleges and universities that received the highest number of applicants selected for the 2022-23 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program.

Saginaw Valley State University was recently awarded a donation of optical equipment from Gentec-EO through the company’s Laser Lab Awards program. Headquartered in Quebec, Canada, Gentec-EO is a worldwide supplier of instruments for the measurement of laser and terahertz equipment.

The award honors an individual who positively promotes public education – at any level – through union activity, political action and/or community advocacy. Blake received the award at the Human Rights and Excellence Awards Luncheon at the MEA Winter Conference on Feb. 2.

SVSU moot court teams make strong showing at home tournament

Hours of preparation propelled Saginaw Valley State University students to strong showings in a moot court regional tournament hosted by the university on December 2 and 3. SVSU hosted 30 teams from around the country for the event, one of 16 regional tournaments at which students compete to qualify for the American Moot Court Association’s national tournament in January.
