Early Commencement Participation- Winter Only

Students wanting to participate in the Winter commencement ceremony prior to the completion of their degree requirements must submit an Dynamic Form request to the Office of the Registrar.

The following criteria will be applied as guidelines to evaluate such requests:

• No early Fall commencement participation
• The request must be made by filling out the attached Dynamic Form -Early/Late Commencement Participation Request
• The request must be made before the end of the fourth week of the Winter semester.
• Basic Skills (remedial) requirements must have been successfully met at the time of the request - this is mandatory.
• The cumulative GPA is 2.30 or greater at the time of the request.
• General Education courses and all lower-division degree requirements (100 and 200 level courses) should have been met at the time of the request.
  • However, if this is not the case and the student is currently enrolled in the last of such requirements in the semester in which the request is being made, these cases will be considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the GPA that should be 2.30 or above
• Student should have no more than 9 credits remaining to graduate at the time of this request, of which all 9 credits should be pre-registered in spring/summer of that same year to complete their degree. 
• If the student must attend in the following fall or winter semester for the remaining 9 credits, they should delay until the next scheduled graduation ceremony.
• Students who are approved to walk early, will not be allowed to walk a second time once their courses are completed.
