Faculty/Staff Research Bulletin

At Saginaw Valley State University, our mission is to transform lives through comprehensive, engaged education and experiences that prepare students for tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities. This same commitment to transformation extends to the research, scholarship, and creative work of our faculty and staff. The works represented in this Bulletin have been shared with colleagues through peer-reviewed publications and presentations

The Research Bulletin showcases the breadth of research and creative endeavors taking place across our campus. This research is vast and spans a wide range of topics including African women entrepreneurs in an informal economy, RNAi-based transgenesis in the bean beetle, animal welfare and rights in Disney animated movies, canals in a changing Britain, analytical modeling and verification of a design for an optical assistive system. These are only a few examples of the scholarship being done on our campus.

Our goal is simple: to foster a culture that values and celebrates discovery in all its forms. By shining a light on the scholarship taking place at SVSU, we hope to encourage collaboration, spark new ideas, and remind ourselves of the shared commitment that defines our academic community.
