A Note from the Oversight Committee

We are proud and honored to introduce you to our CBE leadership development program. The CBE program provides freshman- and sophomore-level SVSU students in the Scott L. Carmona College of Business with exciting in-class, field-based, networking, mentoring, and co-curricular travel experiences to help them develop their leadership skills, abilities and talents, and realize their leadership potential.

Early in the CBE program we focus on the development of students' self-awareness of their leadership and teamwork tendencies as this knowledge is foundational for highly effective and successful leadership. Special seminars explore leadership theories, as well as their practical application. Students engage with faculty mentors, senior executives and business professionals, to learn from their rich and varied leadership experiences. Also, students are prepared for and encouraged to take on key leadership roles in student and community organizations that allow them to test, hone and demonstrate their leadership skills in real-world environments.

We invite you to explore the CBE leadership program website, learn about the innovative program, get to know the alumni of the program, and consider applying for admission to the next cohort.

Please feel free to contact Dr. Amy Hendrickson, Program Coordinator, at (989) 964-2172 or if you have any questions regarding the program.

All the best, Prospective Cardinals!
