Graphic Standards

  • Graphic Marks : Logos, university seal, Cardinal head, masthead, tagline, etc...
  • Fonts : The best fonts to use to compliment the SVSU logo.
  • Colors : The official SVSU colors as well as complimentary options.
  • Stationery system : Letterhead, business cards, envelopes, memo pads, etc...
  • Templates : Brochures, flyers, posters, ads, PowerPoint, and more...

Graphic standards are consistent recommendations for the usage, size, colors, fonts and placement of the university logo, the university seal, the athletic cardinal and department icons.

Graphic standards are applied to the following :

  • All publications (books, flyers, catalogs, brochures, posters, etc.)
  • Advertising
  • Media (news releases and media kits)
  • Stationery (business cards, letterhead, No. 10 envelopes, etc.)
  • Transportation (decals, vehicle IDs)
  • Architecture (signage)
  • Special events (exhibits, invitations, banners)
  • Specialty items (certificates, lapel pins)
  • Web site(s)
  • Bookstore (apparel, insignia items)
  • Athletics

The first phase of SVSU graphic standards is geared toward its major publications, stationery system, direct advertising and Web site. As need and opportunity present themselves in the other areas affected by graphic standards (signage, banners, other printed materials), changes will be made.

Some flexibility is offered for collateral and imprinted items created by student groups, the SVSU faculty association, and with some insignia items, apparel and other items sold in the SVSU bookstore.
