Commencement Contests

Our Commencement social media contests offer students an opportunity to show off their Red Pride a few different ways.

SVSU’s Graduation Cap Contest 

SVSU students can share images of their decorated graduation caps using the hashtag #SVGrad21 or by emailing entry to media@svsu.edu.  Get inspired by viewing our Pinterest gallery.

In order to be entered you MUST also do the following: 

• Follow SVSU on both Facebook and Instagram 
• Create an SVSU Connect account 

When is the contest?

Students must submit photos between April 24 and May 8.  

How will the prize winners be determined?

Finalists and prizes will be determined through a 2-step process.

Step 1) A panel of SVSU staff and students will choose a group of eligible finalists from the submitted photos. Panelists will base selections on creativity, visual design, Red Pride, and creative execution.

Step 2) The finalist photos then will be shared in a Facebook-based photo album advertised on SVSU’s official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. The top three award recipients of the Graduation Cap contest will be determined by the images with the most “Likes” and “Shares” on Facebook. Winners will be notified via the social media account used for submission or email.

What are the prizes?

• First place: SVSU blanket
• Second place: SVSU picture frame
• Third place: SVSU license plate
