Welcome New Cardinal Families
|
SVSU’s orientation programs for incoming freshmen (SOAR) are underway, as three sessions are complete. We are excited to welcome our newest class of Cardinals for the fall 2024 term.
We encourage you to wear SVSU attire on orientation days along with your name tag, providing a warm, friendly welcome to our new students and their families. Show your SVSU Red Pride!
On orientation days, many visitors will be experiencing our campus for the first time. As parents walk around campus during their free time, please be prepared to assist if they need assistance or directions to find a certain office location. If someone asks questions you can't answer yourself, please feel free to refer them to the Admissions Office, Wickes 178, who will get them where they need to go.
It’s a great day to be a Cardinal and to welcome our new families to SVSU!

Cardinal Formula Racing Looks to Roar Back at SAE
|
SVSU’s Cardinal Formula Racing Team competed at the Formula SAE competition at Michigan International Speedway earlier this month but failed to meet their lofty expectations. The team finished 82nd overall, partly due to an engine failure in the endurance event.
Colin Kaul, a marketing major from Saginaw and the team’s business lead, said the young team learned a lot at this year’s competition. “We have a bunch of young, talented people who are ready to build an even better car next year.”

Cheyenne Nesbitt Makes History with Fourth-Straight Heptathlon National Title
|
SVSU senior Cheyenne Nesbitt (née Williamson) made history winning her fourth-straight national championship in the heptathlon with a school record score of 6002.
Nesbitt is the first woman in NCAA history – in any division – to win four consecutive heptathlon titles! Her point total ranks second all-time in NCAA Division II and it makes her the third woman in Division II to break the 6000-point mark. Her four consecutive heptathlon crowns make her one of six D2 women's athletes to achieve such a streak in their respective events.

The Cardinals ended the 2024 season with a program-high 41 wins in 59 games played.
