FAST Program


Fostering an Academic Successful Transition (FAST) is a campus support program that offers assistance to students who have experienced foster care and are attending Saginaw Valley State University or Delta College.

FAST Program participants can access resources that support their personal, academic, and professional goals. Through life skills workshops, community building, mentorship, and financial assistance, FAST is working with students to reduce barriers that impact student success.

Program Eligibility

  • Have been in a foster care placement supervised by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) at age 14 or older
    -or-
  • Have been in a non-secure delinquency placement supervised by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) at age 14 or older
  • Are under the age of 23
