Short-Study at SVSU
SVSU's Short-Study programs are designed to be accessible and to offer international students from our partner universities a focused, immersive experience on our Michigan campus without committing to a long term enrollment. As a Midwestern campus, we want to highlight the beauty of our region and our rich culture that our visitors may not find elsewhere in the United States.

Beyond your studies at SVSU and providing you with a firsthand American Campus experience, we also want to make our entire region accessible for you to explore. For previous Short-Study Program groups, we have organized a variety of trips to discover and learn more about Michigan and the American Midwest.
Cedar Point
Ride on some of the best and most exciting roller coasters in the world, and enjoy the view of the Lake Erie Peninsula shore in Sandusky, Ohio
Chicago
If you are looking for great shopping destinations, great restaurants, art museums, science museums, aquariums, or anything else you could imagine, our Chicago trips are perfect for you. Climb to the top of Willis Tower to view the city and Lake Michigan, get a deep-dish pizza dinner or delicious cheesecake at the famous Cheesecake Factory, and much more.
Mackinac Island
Mackinac Island's world-renowned can be explored by bicycle or horse carriage- There are no cars on the entire island! Enjoy the ferry ride over lake Huron, take a tour through the historical fort on Mackinac Island, explore the beautiful nature or the historic town in one of Michigan's most popular spots.
Frankenmuth
This beautiful little town was founded by German Immigrants many years ago and has preserved its heritage like no other place in Michigan! Explore Michigan's "Little Bavaria" and its History while enjoying traditional food, or visit Bronner's, the world's largest christmas store.
Sleeping Bear Dunes
From no other place will you have such a great view over Lake Michigan than from the famous Sleeping Bear Dunes on one of the nation's most beautiful shorelines. Running down is super fun, climbing up... not so much.
