SVSU has numerous types of scholarships and funding to assist you in completing your academic journey on time. Many departments have scholarships specific to their majors; however, some are broader and those are listed below. A comprehensive look at scholarships/funding can be found here.

 

Botz Liberal Arts Fellowship

  • $1000 plus $1500 upon securing approved internship
  • 2.75 Cumulative GPA, 28 credit hours completed
  • ABS student with an interest in business

Dr. David Rayfield Memorial Scholarship

  • $1500
  • 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Preference to those that minor in Philosophy or demonstrate an interest in Photography

Dow Corning Public Service Scholarship

  • $1500
  • 3.0 Cumulative GPA, 30 credit hours completed
  • Public policy and service; Used for internship related expenses

Family of Walter T. James

  • $1250
  • 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Preference for Sociology, Social Work, or Criminal Justice

Frederick “Fritz” Horak and Lucy Horak

  • $1800
  • 3.0 Cumulative GPA; Resident of Bay, Midland, or Saginaw counties
  • Pre-medicine, Nursing, Medical Technology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology

Lyman/Parker Non-Profit Fellowship in the Arts

  • $2000
  • 3.0 Cumulative GPA; 30 credit hours at SVSU
  • Internship with an arts non-profit

Sebastian and Ida Ramet Endowed Scholarship for the Study of the Arts and Humanities

  • $1500
  • 3.1 Cumulative GPA in major courses, 3.0 Cumulative GPA overall; Must have completed 12 hours in the major
  • Art, Creative Writing, English, French, History, International Studies, Music, Spanish, or Theatre

William and Sally Bowen Scholarship

  • $600
  • 2.75 Cumulative GPA, Mid-Michigan resident
  • Demonstrates leadership
