Process Overview
- Incident Occurs
A written summary is submitted to the Coordinator of Student Conduct Programs.
- Informal Resolution
Faculty and student attempt to reach a mutual resolution without formal conduct intervention. The faculty member submits the outcome to the Coordinator in writing.
If the matter is resolved informally, no further action is taken.
Formal Student Conduct Process
- Formal Student Conduct Intervention
The matter is referred to the Director of Student Conduct Programs.
- Formal Charges
The student receives notification of formal charges identifying alleged violations of the Code of Student Conduct.
Possible Outcomes
Student Accepts Responsibility
- The student accepts responsibility for the charge(s).
- The Director of Student Conduct Programs determines sanctions in accordance with Academic Integrity Regulations.
- The student may submit an appeal based only on the reasons listed in the student code of conduct.
- The appeal case will be heard by the appropriate designee.
Student Denies Responsibility
- The student denies responsibility for the charge(s).
- A Hearing Panel determines the student's accountability for the charge and determines sanctions, if appropriate.
- The student may submit an appeal based only on the reasons listed in the student code of conduct.
- The appeal case will be heard by the appropriate designee.

Students have the right to a fair process, including the opportunity to be heard and to appeal in accordance with University policies.
