You’ve got an SVSU account, you've started your financial aid process, and now it’s time for Express Orientation: your first official on-campus experience as a Cardinal. SVSU has recently modified our orientation program for transfer students and non-traditional freshmen into a hybrid format to provide more flexibility and convenience. Upon registering for Express Orientation, you'll receive login information to complete an online orientation, and then you'll complete your orientation with individual advising and registration on campus.  Also included (but not required) in Express Orientation are tours of campus, an introduction to the various academic support services and extracurricular opportunities.

We are excited you want to begin your journey as a Cardinal! Registration for Express Orientation generally does not open until approximately six months prior to the start of the semester so check your email for notifications about when they begin.

Have you heard which university has been voted the best housing in Michigan? That would be SVSU. While living on campus is optional, we welcome you to join a vibrant, comfortable and safe Cardinal community. Rooms are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so submit your contract today! The next years are going to shape your life forever, and we want to ensure you feel at home here. So we offer living areas with kitchens, private bathrooms and fully furnished living spaces. We also make it easy for commuters to customize a dining plan and eat healthy on campus. More information about housing options, room layouts and housing rates are enclosed in your admissions packet or at the links below.

Keeping track of all your college details can be a lot, and you don’t have to do it alone. SVSU lets you authorize other people, like your parents or guardians, with whom we can share your financial and academic information when you submit a “Personal Information Release Form.” You can assign a special PIN that will grant them access to your information through under  "Students" and then “Privacy Settings.”
