Orientation for International Students

 During orientation, students will complete the following tasks and activities: 

• Receive SVSU ID card 
• Submit official transcripts, if necessary 
• Take Basic Skills Placement tests, if necessary 
• Learn about campus resources, such as: 
  • Career Services 
  • Student Life Center 
  • Fitness Center 
  • Library 
  • Center for Academic Achievement 
  • Campus Police 
• Learn about important topics, such as: 
  • Visa regulations 
  • Academic policies 
  • Training (OPT, CPT) and on-campus employment  
• Purchase or rent textbooks from the bookstore 
• Pay semester bill 

For orientation check-in*, please bring the following documents:

• Passport/Visa
• Official transcripts
• Covid-19 vaccination card

*All documents collected by the Office of International Programs for imaging at check-in will be returned to students by the end orientation week.
