International Graduate Student Program Requirements
An international graduate student...
- has earned a 4-year bachelor’s degree
- is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Submit the SVSU application and pay $30 application fee.
The Application Portal is where you will upload all necessary documents and track the status of your application.
Upload scanned documents, including:
- Passport
- Transcripts:
- Scanned copies can be uploaded for admission purposes. Official transcripts must be received upon arrival to campus.
- SVSU performs transcript evaluations in-house, however, applicants may be asked to order an external evaluation if the transcript cannot be interpreted or verified by the in-house evaluator. In those cases, we recommend that the applicant order a credential evaluation from ECE, Scholaro or WES.
- Evidence of financial support:
- Possible documents include a bank statement or financial guarantee from a recognized sponsoring organization. A bank statement should be dated within the last 6 months and show an amount of available funds no less than the total amount noted on our Costs page (include link). If the bank statement shows a foreign currency, our admission staff will use exchange rates to determine the U.S. dollar conversion.
- F-1 students who are transferring to SVSU from other U.S. institutions must submit the SVSU I-20 Transfer-In Form (include link) instead of the Evidence of Financial Support.
- Other documents may be required according to program.

English Language Proficiency
International applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency in the form of one of the following test scores. The specific requirements for this graduate program can be found on the program page.
