International Education Week
Saginaw Valley State University will celebrate a variety of cultures represented by our international students with the International Food Festival on Tuesday, Nov. 7. SVSU Dining Services employees will prepare recipes provided by students. Countries represented include Brazil, Cameroon, Japan, Kosovo, Laos, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Rwanda, South Korea and Taiwan.
The International Food Festival is part of SVSU's celebration of International Education Week November 6-10. International Education Week recognizes the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.
The Office of International Programs has a number of events and activities scheduled throughout the week, built around the theme "World Tour":
Monday, Nov. 6 - Study Abroad Alumni Panel, 4 - 5 p.m., Curtiss Hall 100
Tuesday, Nov. 8 - International Food Festival, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Marketplace at Doan
Tuesday, Nov. 8 - “The Music of Brazil,” a presentation by Letícia Grützmann, assistant professor of music, 5 - 6 p.m., Curtiss Hall 100
Thursday, Nov. 9 - Study Abroad Faculty-Led Panel Discussion, 4:15 - 5:15 p.m., Curtiss Hall 100
Friday, Nov. 10 - Door Decorating Contest judging. Throughout the week, university offices are encouraged to decorate their doors for the “World Tour” theme. Judges will pass by on Friday to vote on the best-decorated door.
