Undergraduate Research

The Saginaw Bay Environmental Science Institute (SBESI) at Saginaw Valley State University, established in 2013, strives to advance the understanding and health of the Saginaw Bay watershed ecosystem. Its mission centers on fostering collaborative research, education, and community partnerships to address water quality, restoration, and management issues in the region. A cornerstone of this work is providing students with hands-on, real-world experience through internships and research opportunities that contribute to meeting environmental needs in the Great Lakes region.
