Cardinal II

Featuring a 250 horsepower engine, ample passenger and cargo space, and the maneuverability of tritoon technology, Cardinal Cardinal II commissioned in September 2013 by Deb Huntley, dean of the College of Science, Engineering & Technology.II unveils new and expanded research and educational opportunities. Cardinal II will serve a dual role as a "floating classroom" and a versatile research vessel.

Critical to the mission and efficacy of SBESI are alliances with Delta College and various community and governmental organizations who share a common interest in the science and health of the Saginaw Bay watershed ecosystem. Cardinal II is an asset that will strengthen and broaden collaborative partnerships.

The acquisition of Cardinal II further validates the commitment of Saginaw Valley State University and the Saginaw Bay Environmental Science Institute to the people and natural resources of the Saginaw Bay watershed.
