Cardinals Vote is a non-partisan initiative centered around connecting SVSU students with opportunities to engage in the democratic system through voter registration, candidate and ballot information, and ultimately, turning out to the polls to ensure student voices are heard in the electoral process.


Important Dates

  • Election day – 11/3/2020
  • Presidential Primaries - 3/10/2020

  • Are you already registered? Check Here
    • If you still aren’t sure, feel free to re-register! There is no penalty
  • When to re-register?
    • If you change your addresses, you name, party, etc.
    • If not, you are still registered at your old location and most vote there, or your registration status is invalid
    • New changes with Prop 3. More Info? Click Here
  • How to register
    • Michigan still has paper ballots that must be completed in person
    • Secretary of State offices have registration forms. Find one near you
    • Or your local clerk’s office
    • Additional info and
    • If you register with your home address, you must return home at the polling location associated with that address to vote, or vote absentee
      • Downloadable absentee ballots can be found here
      • Fill out the application, and mail it to your home clerk the Friday before Election day
      • No excuse is needed under new law
    • If you register with your campus address, you must vote at your campus polling location.
