Building on the success of the community engagement sponsored events of the past year, Saginaw Valley State University’s Center for Community Engagement hosted the inaugural Community Engagement Conference with faculty and staff, their community partners, and students to focus on the work SVSU is involved in the Great Lakes Bay Region. This conference brought together 121 attendees and 22 presenting groups showcasing specifically how they have engaged in their communities to make a difference in the region.
This conference featured the community engagement activities of SVSU faculty and staff through a “Human Gallery Walk”. Both faculty or staff and community members hosted their posters as conference participants walked through to review the work displayed. Diane Fong, President & CEO of the Bay Area Community Foundation, served as our keynote speaker for the evening. To learn more about Diane please visit this link.
This event took place on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in SVSU’s Curtiss Hall Seminar Rooms.
