November 29 - December 18, 2010
Reception: December 2, 4:30 pm - 7 pm
This exhibition features artwork by the Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates and serves as a completion of their undergraduate program. This exhibition features work from Peter Clouse, Jacob Johnson, Zack Lietaert, Sarah Masters, Derek Rudel, & Stacy Wilson.
Peter Clouse is from Saginaw and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Peter is planning on going to graduate school to get a Master of Fine Art in Fiber, or Sculpture. He would like to go to more a fine art aspect with his work and get away from the structure of the digital world.
Peter has been hired by Delta College to instruct Graphic Design classes part-time in the Winter 2011. Peter had the following to say about this opportunity and his time at SVSU: "This will give me an excellent opportunity to get some experience and a feel for what I want to do. I have had some excellent classes and absolutely excellent teachers. Without them there to guide me I'm not sure I would be where I am today. A couple of the teachers that were my biggest influences and favorites at SVSU are Tom Canale and Barron Hirsch. These two are dedicated and diverting at what they teach. They have a lot to offer and they know their subjects. I have a lot of good memories at SVSU, and will miss it."

Jacob Johnson is from Davison, Michigan, and will be graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Graphic Design. His exhibit includes the variety of work necessary to complete an entire magazine, from concept to post production. Along with the actual magazine, written and designed all (most) by himself. Jacob plans on exhibiting some process work and web applications all associated with his magazine NOISE.
Zack Lietrest is from Mount Clemens, Michigan, and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Graphic Design. Zack feels that "SVSU has an amazing art faculty that really challenges you to become better. When I finished the program I will have a very well rounded portfolio to get me started on my road to success in the professional world."
Sarah Masters is from Memphis, Michigan, and will be graduation with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Graphic Design. What Sarah enjoyed most about her academic career at SVSU was "the ability to establish relationships not only with fellow classmates but with the Art Department faculty. It is difficult to have an art professor only once, and some people may be against this but I loved it. As you continue with a professor you realize what they expect of you, and they in turn grow to understand your methods of thinking and your artistic style. With this relationship, I felt that I could be more daring with my art, exploring and taking risks, which is really a necessity in the art world.
The 3 above images are an ad campaign for the Rochester Hills Public Library.
Derek Rudel is from Gaylord, Michigan, and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Graphic Design.
Stacy Wilson will be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Graphic Design. No images currently available.
