July 2025
At SVSU, Macy embarked on her academic path as a Biochemistry major. However, as she explored various classes, she discovered a new passion that would reshape her future entirely. Her growing interest in influencer marketing led her to shift her focus to Marketing, and it wasn’t long before she found her true calling in sales. Her enthusiasm for sales blossomed; she not only excelled in her classes but also became a competitive participant in Sales Competitions. To further cultivate her interests, she founded the Sales Club, creating a space for fellow students to explore the dynamic world of sales. Her enthusiasm for the subject was further fueled by her favorite professor, Dr. Hillary Mellema, whose interactive teaching style made learning both enjoyable and impactful.
Beyond her pursuits in sales, Macy became an integral part of the Vitito Global Leadership Institute. Here, she engaged with her cohort, gained insights into effective leadership practices, mentored aspiring entrepreneurs, and capped off an enriching three-semester experience with a week-long trip to Rome. Meeting international business leaders was a highlight, but the bonds she forged with her peers truly stood out, creating a tight-knit community that would last well beyond graduation.
Life Beyond SVSU
After graduating in 2024, Macy stepped into her role as a Cowork Ambassador at CMURC in Bay City. In this position, she connects with potential members and businesses, assessing how they might benefit from the vibrant CMURC environment. She recently accepted a new position at CMU as the Assistant Director of Development for the College of Health Professions and College of Medicine. She is so excited to continue her journey at CMU!
Game Night
During her time at SVSU, Macy was not content to simply focus on her studies; she also launched her own business, Game Night, a traveling board game company. The concept originated from a memorable visit to a board game café in Texas. Recognizing a gap in activities for younger people near campus, she saw the potential for a mobile board game service that would provide entertainment for students without cars.
Macy didn't stop there; she partnered with various businesses in the Great Lakes Bay region to host board game nights, inviting the community to join in on the fun. With a collection of over 50 games ranging from quick rounds of Uno to strategic challenges, there’s something for everyone, regardless of age. Her efforts gained recognition, especially when she was named a finalist in the Saginaw Soup Competition in 2024, which helped her further expand her game collection.
