Kevin Townsend

Congratulations to Kevin Townsend for receiving a 2025 Heroes in Education award! Kevin teaches at Freeland High School as a Physical Education Teacher. He was hired in 2000 as a K-6 Physical Education teacher, and then moved to Middle School in 2002. He came back to SVSU to receive his Master of Educational Leadership in 2002.
He has served as an MS building rep, on the MTSS committee, and volunteers his time daily during the school year. He has been the High School football coach since 2006, while leading the Falcons to a 148-58 record. He has been named Regional Coach of the Year 7 times and has led the Falcons to the playoffs, a Saginaw County record, seventeen straight years.
