Saginaw Valley State University is a proud participant in the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) agreement. Under the MTA and MACRAO agreements, transfer students who’ve earned the MTA or MACRAO-stamped transcripts from participating Michigan public community colleges will have partially or fully met SVSU’s General Education requirements.
Transfer students who have fulfilled the 30 credit General Education requirement specified in the MACRAO Agreement will have to take no more than two categories to satisfy SVSU’s ten category General Education requirement.
SVSU’s Registrar, or their designee, will evaluate the MACRAO-stamped transfer transcript to determine what SVSU General Education categories have been completed. If the evaluation leaves more than two categories unfilled, waivers (not transfer credits) will be given until two categories remain unfilled. Students are also required to complete at least two Communication Intensive (CI) courses at SVSU.
SVSU’s Registrar, or their designee, will also evaluate the MTA-stamped transfer transcript and waive the remaining General Education category requirements. Students are also required to complete at least two Communication Intensive (CI) courses at SVSU.
Transfer students are responsible for the completion of any additional requirements specified by SVSU.
