Pre-Nursing Advisors

Rachel Winter
Rachel Winter

Hello, my name is Rachel Winter, MPH. I serve as the pre-nursing students’ advisor. In addition, I advise all other majors in the College of Health & Human Services such as medical laboratory science, public health, and occupational therapy.

I have a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a master’s degree in public health and have worked in various healthcare settings. I worked with high school students prior to coming to SVSU which has helped me understand what College of Health and Human Services students need to be successful. Also, my time as a Division I student athlete gave me the tools to provide sound advice to students who need to balance their academic life with extracurricular activities and other life demands.

I strive to help all my students navigate through their college experience with as little stress as possible. I look forward to meeting with you to help you reach your future goals!

Monika Sciba

Monika Sciba

Hello, my name is Monika Sciba. I serve as the pre-nursing advisor for students who are ready to apply to the nursing program and for students in our Freshman Nursing Direct Admission program.

Prior to working in the College of Health & Human Services, I worked in the Academic Advisement Center as an academic advisor for several years. I am not a nurse, but my daughter is (SVSU BSN). Through her experience, I know how stressful it can be preparing to apply to nursing school. I’m here to help.

To schedule an advising session, please email me. I can accommodate whatever works best for your schedule including: a face to face meeting, a virtual meeting, a phone call or email(s).

I am looking forward to helping you reach your goals.
