1. From your MySVSU page, log into Workday.

2. In the Workday Search bar, type "Request Flexible Payment & Deduction Options." 

3. In the form's "Flexible Payment and Deduction Option" field, select one of the following:

• SVSU Foundation Giving – all non-athletics gifts
• Cardinal Athletics Fund – athletics gifts only; all payments must be made by the June 18, 2027, payday.

Only one form can be selected at a time. You may split your pledge to support multiple needs on the same form. However, we ask that you not mix athletic and non-athletic purposes. If you would like to give to both categories, please repeat this process.

4. Fill in the fields:

• Target Amount = the total $ of your gift.
• Number of Installments = the number of bi-weekly pay periods over which to spread your contribution (the deduction amount will automatically calculate). Important considerations are:

There are 26 pays in one year.

If you wish to finish your pledge at the end of a current calendar or fiscal year, please consult the 2026-27 Payroll Schedule (below) to determine the number of remaining paydays in the year. Reminder, payroll deductions for the Cardinal Athletics Fund must be completed by fiscal year end. 

For non-athletic student, scholarship or program support, you can extend the installments for up to 10 years (260 installments).

5. Be sure to click the acknowledgement checkbox.

6. In the Comment field, provide:

• Date you want to start your payroll deduction if it isn't the next possible payday. 
• Need(s) you want to support
  You can name specific fund(s) or describe purpose(s). If we are unsure of your intent, we will contact you for clarification. You may also call the Foundation at 989-964-4052 to talk through possible options. Many employees select one of the following funds to provide the university with the greatest flexibility in meeting student needs:

• • Cardinal Success Fund – gifts to this fund are used for student purposes “where needed most”
  • Wings of Opportunity – previously known as the General Scholarship Fund, gifts are restricted to student scholarship needs.

7. Click SUBMIT.

Commitments must be received by the Thursday one week prior prior to payday.
