The Finance program at SVSU empowers our hard-working students to defy limits, conquer challenges and soar to new heights. With programs led by experts and AACSB accreditation as one of the top 5% of business schools worldwide, our students are supported and challenged by their professors to maximize their potential both in and out of the classroom. In class, students learn to manage real portfolios while outside of class they have the opportunity to visit the New York Stock Exchange, to attend international conferences, and to network with regional business leaders.   • SVSU students receive an education from one of the top five percent of business schools worldwide.

  • Finance majors have the opportunity to enhance their degree by adding a minor in Actuarial Science to prepare for the licensing exams.

The curriculum for the Finance program at SVSU builds on a strong foundation of core business classes including economics, management, marketing, and accounting. In the finance courses, students learn how to analyze and interpret financial data, then apply that knowledge to complex business challenges. The program utilizes state-of-the-art technology and top-notch faculty to help students develop an understanding of investment strategies, corporate finance policy and emerging financial issues. Graduates of the SVSU Finance program have the tools to be successful whether they choose to become a trusted investment advisor, work in corporate finance, pursue a career in banking, help launch a start-up or take any path that requires a deep understanding of business paired with data analysis skills.
