SVSU and Pulse 3 Foundation hope to host 500 for CPR Blitz at Saturday’s football game

Saginaw Valley State University’s College of Health and Human Services, the Pulse 3 Foundation in Saginaw, and Blue Cross Blue Shield will partner to provide lifesaving training Saturday, Oct. 7. Using the slogan “500 in 5,” they hope to train 500 people how to perform hands-only CPR training the SVSU home football game that day.

SVSU first in the nation to offer students Healthcare Financial Professional Certification

Saginaw Valley State University has become the first university in the nation to offer the Certified Healthcare Financial Professional credential when school leaders incorporate this certification into the curriculum this fall. The certification is available to those studying in SVSU's Master of Science in Health Administration and Leadership program.

SVSU receives $1.39 million federal grant to improve health care in northern lower Michigan

Saginaw Valley State University has won federal funding to improve health care delivery for residents in rural areas immediately and into the future. A grant of nearly $1.4 million will support an innovative approach that will place graduate students in SVSU’s nurse practitioner program into the field to provide patient care, and will prepare them for careers in rural settings.

The Saginaw Valley State University Board of control approved a tuition increase of $474 for in-state students as part of the 2017-18 general fund operating budget adopted during the Board’s regular meeting Monday, June 19.
