SVSU's General Business program is the most flexible of the business majors and offers a strong foundation in accounting and economic courses. In later years, students advance their academic career by selecting courses from various business disciplines including accounting, finance, management, marketing, supply chain management, international business and professional sales. Life as a General Business major means that students can tailor their academic career to fit their professional interests.
SVSU's General Business program pushes students to challenge the way everyday business is done on a local, national and global scale. With acclaimed faculty at the helm, an entire breadth of knowledge and invaluable skills are unleashed as students thrive in their understanding and applications of proven organizational and business approaches. Having access to state-of-the-art facilities like a Bloomberg trading room and consumer behavior labs encourages students to improve upon their ability to identify and analyze problems, develop and communicate potential solutions, make and implement decisions and then monitor data-driven results. From learning to contend with complex business challenges, to advancing organizational practices, to actively applying ingenious solutions that work—majors in the program will drive economic growth in whatever workplace they find themselves in.
Opening in 2020, the new Scott L. Carmona College of Business will offer state-of-the-art facilities like the Bloomberg trading room, consumer behavior labs and other team project environments.
Less than 5% of business colleges globally are accredited by the AACSB-International—SVSU's Scott L. Carmona College of Business is one of them.
Over 90% of the faculty of the College of Business belong to a professional or service organization, providing diverse networking opportunities for students.
