Lindsey Mead

September 2025

Lindsey Mead

Get to know Lindsey Mead, the chair of the Past Alumni committee on the Alumni Relations Board of Directors. Lindsey graduated from SVSU in 2020 and currently serves as and Attorney at Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith, P.C. We asked Lindsey some questions about SVSU, and here is what she had to say,

Why did you want to join the SVSU Alumni Board?

I saw it as an opportunity for reconnection with my alma mater, and it offered a chance to provide insight into my own SVSU experiences with current students and recent alumni.

What was your favorite part about SVSU while you were a student?

The people! It’s a small enough university that it feels like you know everyone, while also offering you the opportunity to find your niche interests and communities. I loved my academic discipline and the studies that came along with it as well as my professors’ dedication to their students. My English studies and moot court experiences are things I look back so fondly on.

What 3 words would you use to describe SVSU.

Foundational, community-centric, home

What piece of advice would you give to current SVSU students?

Connect with your fellow students and professors around you. Learn from each other as much as you learn in the classroom!

How did SVSU inspire you?

It really gave me the building blocks to find my career path and shine on that route. It gave me insight into new experiences, connects with some of my closest friends, and networking opportunities with people I still interact with in my professional life post-SVSU.

How has your experience at SVSU helped you set an example for others in your field?

I think I represent that a young woman from a small(ish) town can really achieve great heights at a big graduate university like OSU. President Bachand was one of many who wrote letters of recommendation for me for my law school applications. The idea that those interpersonal connections that can thrive because of SVSU’s small size launched me into a bigger pond is something I sincerely appreciated and am a representative of.

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of the well-rounded person I feel my college education made me, and I owe that to SVSU.

What is something fun that you do in your leisure time?

I am a huge movie buff! I watch every movie nominated for an Academy Award (the Oscars) every year!!

What is your favorite book or movie genre?

I’m a romance/drama fan (very English major of me)

If you could see anyone in concert (dead or alive) who would it be?

Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Lizzo

What is your go to karaoke song?

Run DMC’s “It’s Tricky”
