Ellen Rodman

2025 Distinguished Alum for College of Arts & Behavioral Sciences

Ellen Rodman is an experienced public service professional whose career spans nearly two decades of leadership in government operations, strategic planning, and constituent engagement across the state of Michigan. She currently serves as the Michigan Operations Director for U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin, where she plays a key role in building and leading the Senator’s statewide initiatives. In this role, she oversees office operations and ensures that the Senator’s outreach and scheduling align with the priorities and needs of Michigan communities. Her work has been instrumental in opening five new offices across the state, strengthening accessibility and service for residents.

Before joining Senator Slotkin’s team, Rodman spent more than 16 years serving U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, most recently as Deputy State Director and Scheduler. In that role, she became known for her strategic insight, organizational excellence, and ability to balance the demands of a fast-paced, high-profile office while maintaining a strong focus on people and purpose. She collaborated closely with federal and state agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders across business, labor, and nonprofit sectors to ensure that Michigan voices were represented in Washington.

A magna cum laude graduate of Saginaw Valley State University, Rodman holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Political Science. Deeply rooted in civic engagement, she has volunteered with the American Red Cross for more than 15 years and received the American Red Cross East Shoreline Mary K. Adelman Volunteer of the Year in 2011. Rodman also served as Secretary of the Saginaw County Democratic Party for almost 17 years and contributed to numerous local government and community initiatives in the Saginaw, Chesaning, and Owosso areas.
