Chris Purnell

Get to know Chris Purnell, a member of the Alumni Relations Board of Directors. Chris graduated from SVSU in 2006 and currently the Supported Employment Coordinator for Hegira Health.

Why did you want to join the SVSU Alumni Board?

Because I love my university and I need to be a representative for both the African American alumni as well as the metro Detroit area.

What is your favorite part about SVSU now?

Seeing the growth of the university.

What 3 words would you use to describe SVSU.

I love it

What piece of advice would you give to current SVSU students?

Enjoy the journey. Continue making lasting memories, and don’t be afraid to talk to different people and try new things.

What are you most proud of?

Graduating from SVSU is always a great moment to think about.

What is something fun that you do in your leisure time?

Go to events with my wife. Play video games and softball.

What is your favorite book or movie genre?

Comedy
