For SVSU Students

You have found a new passion. A passion for discovery, research and ultimately answering the age old question, "why?". We have opportunities for you to pursue this new passion with your own research, helping faculty with theirs, and resources to help you through this process. And, when you're ready, we hope you will consider sharing some of your experience and knowledge with others.

Become a Team Leader

This program will not run in 2023.

Applications are accepted each spring for Team Leader and Teacher Assistant positions. These are paid positions for high school and college students strong in math and who are eager to share their passion with younger students.

Summer Research Opportunity

SVSU students previously participated in summer research with the Dow Science & Sustainability Education Center. Each project was closely aligned with the Saginaw Bay Environmental Science Institute (SBESI) and related to the Saginaw Bay Watershed.

Funding for this program has ended. We will update this site if/when future funding becomes available.

Undergraduate Research Program

UGRP supports the university's value in academic exploration and achievement by providing opportunities for our undergraduate students to participate in hands-on research experiences in a variety of unique and meaningful ways. The program funds four distinct research grants, including: UGRP faculty-led grant, UGRP student-led grant, UGRP student-travel grant and UGRP mini student-led grant.
