Saginaw Valley State University is committed to creating opportunities that promote health, wellness, physical activity, learning, and community engagement. The SVSU Outdoor Fitness Court®, developed in partnership with the National Fitness Campaign, expands those opportunities by providing an accessible outdoor space for exercise, instruction, and wellness programming.
SVSU invested in the Fitness Court®, which includes both the Fitness Court® and the adjacent Studio space. Together, the two areas provide opportunities for individual exercise, group fitness, academic instruction, demonstrations, wellness programming, and community activities. The Fitness Court® Studio is intended to serve SVSU students, faculty, and staff as well as members of the greater community. Whether someone is beginning a fitness journey, incorporating physical activity into an academic course, leading a group wellness activity, or looking for a new way to exercise outdoors, the Fitness Court® provides a flexible environment for movement and wellness.
The goal is simple: to make physical activity more accessible and create another place where SVSU and the community can come together around health and well-being.
SVSU’s Fitness Court® features seven workout zones designed for bodyweight exercise: core, squat, push, lunge, pull, agility and bend. Each zone offers a variety of exercise options that can be adapted for different fitness levels and abilities.
Whether you’re just getting started or looking for a more challenging workout, you can move through the Fitness Court® at your own pace and choose exercises that work for you. No machines or equipment are needed—just your own bodyweight.
