Giving for SVSU Faculty, Staff & Adjuncts

As an SVSU employee, you are an important piece of our students' — and the university's — success. A financial gift to the SVSU Foundation is one way to make an immediate or long-term impact on our students. Each faculty, staff or adjunct member is a piece of the Cardinal picture, and when we all come together, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Every employee gift, large and small, makes an impact.
- Impacts Students — If a student struggles to afford tuition, the resulting financial stress undercuts their education and opportunities for learning outside of the classroom.
- Impacts Recruitment and Retention — Scholarships can be the tipping point that determines whether or not we welcome that new Cardinal in the fall.
- Impacts Giving from Other Donors — High employee participation in giving communicates to foundations and major donors that we are personally willing to invest in our mission and our students.
There are many ways to support SVSU students.
Note: Payroll deduction giving is not an option for adjunct faculty.
- From the Workday homepage, click on the global navigation menu.
- Select the Benefits and Pay app. (If you don't see this option in your menu, click the Add Apps button at the bottom and type in "Benefits and Pay."
- Under Suggested Links, select Request Flexible Payment & Deduction Options.
- Select which payroll deduction form you would like to use (SVSU Foundation Giving or Cardinal Athletic Fund). Only one option can be selected per request.
- Fill in the fields. Target Amount = the total amount of your gift. Number of Installments = the number of bi-weekly pay periods over which to spread your contribution. The Deduction Amount is automatically calculated based on the target amount and number of installments. To determine the number of installments, you may want to refer to the Pay Schedule 2025-26 (264KB).
- Be sure to click the acknowledgement checkbox.
- In the Enter Your Comment field, indicate your preferred payroll deduction start date (Pay Schedule 2025-26 (264KB)) and the need you would like to support, e.g., scholarships, student programs, athletics, college or department, etc.
- Click Submit.
