Working at SVSU

SVSU provides a safe and reliable work environment to over 1,100 employees and innovative academic environments to over 7,100 students. We are committed to ensuring that employees are appreciated and valued for their hard work and dedication to the University. From the relaxed, family-oriented Welcome Back to School picnic, Holiday Luncheon , or the University Awards Banquet, we offer many opportunities to thank and recognize faculty and staff for their outstanding performance.

Saginaw Valley State University is located within the Great Lake Bay Region where innovation flows, with equal distances to the Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland communities. This region has so much to offer from art and antiques to museums, festivals, shopping, family fun activities, golfing, winter sports, and more.

Saginaw Valley State University received the designation of  "Great Colleges to Work For" for eight consecutive years! Saginaw Valley State University was selected by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching to receive its 2015 Community Engagement Classification. This is a 10-year national recognition marking SVSU as a university dedicated to significant and meaningful engagement within our region that enhances learning opportunities for our students. HEED Award 2022 Top Coleges for Diversity

Diversity and inclusion, as demonstrated in our academic programs and community-minded initiatives, is a core value of SVSU. Nationally recognized in 2016, 2018, and 2022 by INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. SVSU received the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award for our commitment to diversity and tenure clarity and process inclusion.
