SVSU College of Education Research Award

Eligibility: Proposals are accepted from full-time faculty members on continuing appointment in the College of Education.

Any faculty member who has received research support from SVSU in the last three out of five years will not receive an additional award unless a research grant proposal is submitted to at least one outside agency.

There are two options to receive grant funding. Faculty can receive funding for Option 1 or Option 2, but not both in one year.

Option 1 - SVSU COLLEGE OF EDUCATION FACULTY RESEARCH PROPOSAL

Faculty Research is defined as research leading to publication or presentation.

Purpose: to provide SEED MONEY designated to support research and stimulate the submission of proposals to other agencies for external funding.   This award will support 2-4 projects yearly; each award will be no more than $3,000.

Option 2 – SVSU COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ACADEMIC AND PEDAGOGICAL INNOVATION

Academic and Pedagogical Innovation should result in student retention and success.

Purpose:  The purpose of the award is to support the work of individual tenure-track faculty or teams of faculty for academic and pedagogical innovation projects that enhance student learning.  Endowed Professors are ineligible to apply.  These projects will demonstrate the use of evidence-based practices and innovative pedagogy to address a learning need.  Estimated amount:  up to $5,500/project.

Annual application due date: 4:30pm, March 15 or next business day if the due date falls on the weekend.
