What You'll Study

The Public Health bachelor's degree is designed to provide students with an understanding of public health principles and practices. The undergraduate degree includes two study tracks in Health Promotion and Health Administration. Fieldwork provides students with an opportunity to gain experience in public health practice that will prepare them for future employment and/or graduate school.

The Public Health BS/MPH program is created for undergraduate Public Health students with an interest in pursuing an MPH degree. The combined program allows students to earn a BS in Public health and an MPH degree.

As a 100% online, generalist program, SVSU’s Master of Public Health (MPH) program incorporates current and relevant public health concerns into coursework and allows students to focus their capstone on a public health topic of interest.

After Graduation

Graduates with degrees in Public Health are in high demand as employers seek health professionals with practical skills and theoretical knowledge. Students with a knowledge of old and new issues affecting public health, current research in the field, and a focus on how social factors impact the health of entire populations will find opportunities that allow them to make positive change.
