SVSU professor to discuss moral psychology, political disagreement and relevance of George Orwell

It has been nearly 75 years since the publication of George Orwell’s “Nineteen Eighty-Four,” yet that dystopian novel, and other works by Orwell, remain relevant today. A lecture by Peter Rose-Barry, Finkbeiner Endowed Professor of Ethics at Saginaw Valley State University, will offer insights into why this is so.

Saginaw Valley State University will host speaker Su‘ad Abdul Khabeer as part of the Dr. Raana Akbar Memorial Lecture Series on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall. A book signing, with refreshments, will follow the lecture.

SVSU professor receives grant for book on intersection of science and religion

Jeffrey Koperski, professor of philosophy at Saginaw Valley State University, has received nearly $90,000 from the John Templeton Foundation to fund his book project focused on science and religion.
