Mission
The Department of Nursing creates opportunities for intellectual and personal development through academic programs built on professional standards and cultural awareness. The Department fosters an environment of inquiry and use of best evidence in the preparation of graduates for leadership in nursing practice within an interprofessional health team to provide care in a pluralistic society. The Department serves as an intellectual center dedicated to nursing knowledge development and nursing science.

The Department of Nursing will provide professional programs of the highest level of quality and service and achieve recognition for its programs. The Department's graduates will distinguish themselves through service to nursing and to interprofessional health care for a diverse society. The Department will be a premier intellectual resource for nursing and health care in this region.
Accreditation
SVSU College of Health and Human Services (OH-344, 7/1/2016) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commisson on Accreditation.
