What is college really like? Come experience it for yourself.

The Cardinal Partnership Program invites students from SVSU-authorized Public School Academies to visit Saginaw Valley State University and experience life as a Cardinal. From exploring campus to connecting with current students, your visit is designed to help you discover what college can look like for you. 

This is more than a typical campus tour. You’ll have the chance to: 

• Explore classrooms, student spaces, and some of the places Cardinals spend their time 

• Hear from current SVSU students about their college experience 

• Learn about majors, student organizations, campus resources, and opportunities to get involved 

• Discover scholarship and leadership opportunities available through the Cardinal Partnership Program 

• Ask questions and get a real feel for what it’s like to be an SVSU student 

Whether college is already part of your plan or you’re still figuring out what comes next, visiting campus can help you see new possibilities for your future.

Your journey to becoming a Cardinal could start with one visit. 

Preparing for a perfect visit

Before your visit 

1. Once your campus visit has been confirmed, have each student attending has completed the Campus Pre-Visit Survey. Please ensure each visiting student has one completed before coming to campus. 
2. Please review the Cardinal Partnership Program Campus Visit Guide for Students and Chaperones 

On the day of your visit 

• Please contact Mr. Copeland at 989-964-7374, leave a message with your estimated arrival time , and the total number of students and chaperones. 

After your visit 

1. After the campus visit is complete, please have students complete their respective Campus Visit Post Visit Survey 
2. If you need reimbursement for buses or transportation, please complete Cardinal Partnership Program Travel Reimbursement Form. Schools will have access to up to $1,500 will reimburse schools. Please send the completed form to psa@svsu.edu  
3. All other forms (Pre-Visit Survey and Post-Visit Survey) must be completed before submitting a Travel Reimbursement Form. If any of them are incomplete, your request will be denied.
