Report Sexual Misconduct

SVSU's Title IX Mandatory Reporting Policy: What You Need to Know

What Is Mandatory Reporting?

Mandatory reporting means reporting incidents of sexual or gender-based misconduct—such as sexual harassment, assault, stalking, and relationship violence—to SVSU’s Title IX Coordinator.

Who Must Report?

  • Employees
  • Students
  • Volunteers

What to Report?

Any incident involving sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, or domestic violence.

If you witness, learn about, or are made aware of an incident you must report it—even if the individual does not want to file a complaint.

The incident must be reported if it occurred on SVSU’s campus, during a university-sponsored event, or involved someone who is an SVSU student, employee, or affiliate at the time of the incident.

How to Report?

  1. Go to the SVSU Title IX website: https://www.svsu.edu/titleix/
  2. Click on “Report Sexual Misconduct”. This will take you to the university’s online reporting form.
  3. Fill out the form. Provide as much information as you can. You can submit the form at any time.

For more information or assistance, contact Dr. Mamie Thorns, SVSU’s Title IX Coordinator, by calling (989) 964-4068 or emailing diversity@svsu.edu.
