Faculty Mentor Award

The SVSU faculty mentor award is designed to annually recognize one faculty member who has gone above and beyond to support undergraduate students’ engagement in scholarly activities.

If your faculty mentor has been exceptional and you would like the opportunity to offer a special thank you, please consider nominating them for this distinctive award. The faculty recipient of this award will be recognized university-wide and will receive a monetary award of $1,000.

Submission Process:

• Nominations for this award are due Friday, April 3 2026.
• Click here to nominate a Faculty Mentor.

Eligibility requirements:

• Faculty mentor must hold a full-time tenure track or be a lecturer currently mentoring an undergraduate student researcher at SVSU.
• Nomination should be submitted by a student who is presenting their research at the current SVSU Student Showcase.
• Nominee may receive this award only once during their tenure at SVSU.

If nominated:

• Nominated faculty will be notified and asked to provide answers to the questions in this survey.
• Faculty nominees should provide information no later than Thursday, April 23, 2026.
