Individuals who wish to appeal a parking citation for violation of SVSU ordinances must send an email to citationappeal@svsu.edu within ten (10) calendar days from the issuance date of the citation. It may also be submitted in person or by mail at/to the following address: 

Parking Services/University Police
Saginaw Valley State University
7400 Bay Road
University Center, MI 48710

Information to include with your appeal is as follows:

  1. Name
  2. Address
  3. Phone Number
  4. Email
  5. Citation Number
  6. Lot Name/Location
  7. License Plate Number
  8. Vehicle Make/Model/ Color
  9. Explanation/Reason for Dismissal

A response to the appeal will be sent via email or mail within five business days from the appeal receipt date.

Upon receipt of an appeal, Parking Services may ask for additional information which would substantiate the reason(s) for the appeal. Parking Services/University Police is the only University department authorized to grant an appeal.

All determinations made regarding parking violation appeals by the SVSU Parking Citation Appeal Board are final and are not subject to subsequent appeal.

If you decline to appeal or fail to pay the fine within 10 calendar days, the parking citation may be forwarded for collections to the designated collections agency.  Parking citations forwarded to a collection agency may also have a fee of $10 assessed in addition to the original fine.    

Payment of citation fines can be completed on-line or in-person at Parking Services or Campus Financial Services Center.
