Gary was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2008, where he served on the Financial Services Committee. While in his first term and one of the most junior members of the House, the Speaker appointed Gary to serve on the conference committee that wrote and finalized the sweeping Dodd-Frank Wall Street and Consumer Protection Act. He continued being a leading voice for Michigan – whether it was advocating for the auto rescue and Michigan manufacturing or ensuring small businesses had access to the capital needed to start, grow and succeed after the Great Recession. In the current Congress, Gary serves as the Ranking Member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which oversees the Department of Homeland Security and is the Senate’s top oversight committee. He also serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senate Armed Services Committee, and the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee. In addition, Gary serves as one of six Congressional Regents on the Smithsonian Institute’s Board of Regents, which governs and administers the organization. In the U.S. Senate, Gary is recognized as one of the most effective and bipartisan Senators, according to the non-partisan Center for Effective Lawmaking (University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University) and the Lugar Center (Georgetown University). During the 118th Congress (2023-2024), Gary authored and passed 15 standalone bills into law with broad bipartisan support. In the 117th Congress (2021-2022), Gary authored and was the principal sponsor of 19 bipartisan bills signed into law – the most enacted into law by a U.S. Senator during a single Congress in over 40 years. Gary was recognized as the #1 most effective Senator in both the 116th and 117th Congresses for his ability to build coalitions and work across the aisle to pass bills into law. In the 116th Congress (2019-2020), he earned this recognition despite serving as a member of the minority party – an achievement that hadn’t been accomplished since the non-partisan Center for Effective Lawmaking began collecting data over 50 years ago. During those three Congresses, Gary was the principal sponsor and author of more standalone bills signed into law than any Democratic or Republican member serving in either the Senate or House. In 2023, the non-partisan Lugar Center recognized Gary as the 2nd-most bipartisan Senator – and the most bipartisan Democrat – for his bipartisan work during the 117th Congress. His bills signed into law help address issues that are important to Michiganders, including protecting the Great Lakes and securing historic funding for restoration efforts, strengthening border security, supporting our nation’s veterans and service members, making government work more efficiently, and saving taxpayer dollars.

Elissa has dedicated her career to serving the country she loves. A former CIA analyst who served three tours in Iraq alongside the U.S. military, Elissa then worked in national security roles at the Pentagon and White House under President Bush and President Obama. In the Obama Administration, she briefed the President on some of the most sensitive national security matters of the day and was eventually nominated to serve as Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs at the Pentagon. In 2018, Elissa was motivated to do more and ran for Congress, flipping a long time Republican-held seat and helping Democrats retake the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. Elissa was re-elected to the House in 2020 and again in 2022 by delivering on the things that mattered the most to her constituents – expanding access to affordable healthcare, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, and bringing critical supply chains and manufacturing back to Michigan. In November 2024, Elissa was elected to serve Michigan in the U.S. Senate, succeeding Debbie Stabenow. In the Senate, Elissa will fight to expand Michigan’s middle class, create jobs with dignity, and keep our communities and children safe.

Congresswoman Lisa McClain represents Michigan’s 9th District, which encompasses the thumb and the northern area of Metro Detroit, including wholly or partially the following counties: Huron, Tuscola, Sanilac, Lapeer, St. Clair, Macomb, and Oakland. During the 118th Congress, Congresswoman McClain earned the trust of her colleagues and was elected to a leadership position as Secretary of the House Republican Conference. She also serves as the Chairwoman of the House Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee on Health Care & Financial Services. Additionally, Congresswoman McClain proudly participates as a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the House Budget Committee.

Congressman John Moolenaar represents Michigan's 4th District, serving a vast array of areas including Alma, Beaverton, Belding, Big Rapids, Cadillac, Carson City, Cedar Springs, Clare, Coleman, Evart, Fremont, Gladwin, Grant, Greenville, Harrison, Hart, Hastings, Ionia, Ithaca, Lowell, Ludington, Manistee, Manton, Montague, Mt. Pleasant, Newaygo, North Muskegon (partial), Portland, Reed City, St. Louis, Scottville, Stanton, White Cloud, and Whitehall. In Congress, Congressman Moolenaar holds significant roles, serving as Michigan's senior member of the House Committee on Appropriations. Additionally, he plays key roles on the subcommittees for Agriculture, Rural Development, Food Drug Administration, and Related Agencies, as well as the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies.

Kristen McDonald Rivet is a lifelong Michigander who has spent her career fighting for working families and finding common sense solutions that make communities safer, families stronger and life just a little bit more affordable. She now proudly represents Michigan’s 8th District – including Genesee, Saginaw, Bay, and Midland counties– in the U.S. Congress. Kristen was raised in a small, farm town in Michigan. Her mom stayed home to raise her and her sisters while her dad worked construction often clocking 80 hours a week to make ends meet. Thanks to their sacrifice, Kristen and her sisters were the first generation in the family to go to college. In Congress, Kristen is laser focused on commonsense solutions that level the playing field for working families and puts more money into their pockets. Her top priorities include cutting taxes for the working and middle class, lowering the cost of groceries, housing, prescription drugs, and childcare, and bringing good-paying jobs to mid-Michigan. She believes we must protect hard-earned benefits, like Social Security and Medicare. And Kristen works with both parties to make sure Michigan’s law enforcement has the necessary resources to keep our communities safe. Kristen was elected by her peers to serve as the Freshman Leadership Representative to the New Democratic Coalition. The “New Dems” are a group of more than 100 middle-of-the-road Democrats in the 119th Congress, committed to working with members of both parties to deliver common sense solutions. With this leadership position, Congresswoman McDonald Rivet will be able to elevate issues important to Michigan families – like lowering costs, creating good-paying jobs, and keeping mid-Michiganders safe. Before being elected to Congress, Kristen served in the Michigan State Senate. Most notably, she led the effort to pass the largest tax cut for working families in state history, and helped repeal Michigan’s burdensome retirement tax. After the Dobbs decision, Kristen helped repeal Michigan’s extreme abortion ban and enshrine the right to abortion into Michigan’s constitution. Prior to serving in elected office, Kristen spent decades advocating for more affordable childcare and better education for every kid in Michigan, including as Executive Director of Michigan Head Start, Chief of Staff the Michigan Department of Education, and Vice President of The Skillman Foundation. Kristen currently lives in Bay City with her husband Joseph, youngest son Elijah and their cat Tuck. They have five other adult children – Courtney, Grant, Laken, Madison, and Ella.

Senator Cherry represents Michigan’s 27th Senate District, which encompasses part of Burton and the entirety of Clayton Township, Flint, Flint Township, Flushing, Flushing Township, Gaines Township, Grand Blanc, Grand Blanc Township, Mount Morris, Mount Morris Township, Mundy Township, and Swartz Creek. In his role, Senator Cherry chairs the Agriculture & Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee, the General Government Appropriations Subcommittee, and the Labor Committee. Additionally, he serves as the Vice Chair of the Natural Resources and Agriculture Committee.

Senator Kevin Daley represents the 26th District in the state legislature, covering segments of Lapeer, Tuscola, Genesee, and Saginaw counties. Within the Senate, Daley holds significant positions. He presently serves as the Minority Vice Chair for the Natural Resources Committee and is an active member of both the Finance and Local Government Committees.

State Senator Roger Hauck represents the 34th Senate District, comprising Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Osceola, Mecosta, and Isabella Counties, as well as portions of Bay, Clinton, Lake, Midland, and Saginaw counties. In his current capacity, Sen. Hauck actively contributes to the legislative process as a member of the Energy and Technology Committee and the Health Policy Committee. Additionally, he assumes the role of Minority Vice Chair for the Senate Regulatory Reform Committee.

State Rep. Gregory Alexander was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022. He serves the 98th House District, which includes residents in portions of Lapeer, Sanilac and Tuscola counties, as well as all of Huron County. Greg serves as the Republican vice chair on the Joint Capital Outlay Appropriations Subcommittee. He also serves as a member of the House Agriculture and Rural Development and Natural Resources Appropriations subcommittee and the Labor and Economic Opportunity Appropriations subcommittee.

Rep. Brian BeGole was elected to serve the 71st House District in November 2022. The 71st House District includes Corunna, Durand, Owosso, Perry, Bancroft, Byron, Morrice, New Lothrop, Vernon, portions of Lennon and Ovid, and the townships of Antrim, Bennington, Burns, Caledonia, Fairfield, Hazelton, Middlebury, New Haven, Owosso, Perry, Rush, Shiawassee, Venice and Vernon in Shiawassee County. It also includes Chesaning, Oakley, Brady Township and Maple Grove Township in Saginaw County and Argentine Township, Gaines Township, and a portion of Mundy Township in Genesee County. Rep. BeGole is a member of the House Criminal Justice Committee, the House Local Government and Municipal Finance Committee, and the House Energy, Communications and Technology Committee.

Representative Beson is representing the 96th House District, which includes the cities of Bay City and Essexville, as well as the townships of Bangor, Beaver, Frankenlust, Fraser, Garfield, Hampton, Kawkawlin, Merritt, Monitor, and Portsmouth. Within the legislative realm, Timmy assumes crucial roles. He serves on the influential House Appropriations committee, responsible for planning the state budget. Additionally, he holds the position of Republican vice chair on the Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy Appropriations Subcommittee. Furthermore, Timmy contributes his expertise as a member of the Labor and Economic Opportunity Appropriations Subcommittee and the School Aid and Education Appropriations Subcommittee.

Representative Matthew Bierlein represents the 97th House District, which spans across sections of Bay, Genesee, Saginaw, and Tuscola counties. In his legislative capacity, Matthew holds significant roles. He serves as the Republican vice chair on the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) and is also an active member of both the House Agriculture Committee and the Regulatory Reform Committee.

Representative Graham Filler represents the 93rd House District, which spans across sections of Clinton, Gratiot, Ionia, Montcalm, and Saginaw counties. In his legislative capacity, Rep. Filler assumes significant roles. He currently holds the position of Republican vice chair on the House Criminal Justice Committee, contributing to critical decisions in this domain. Additionally, he serves as a member on both the Health Policy Committee and the Regulatory Reform Committee, offering his expertise on various policy matters. Previously, Rep. Filler chaired the House Judiciary committee and lent his insights as a member of the Agriculture, Elections and Ethics, and Health Policy committees.

State Representative Phil Green represents the 67th House District, encompassing segments of Genesee, Lapeer, and Tuscola counties. Within the legislative arena, Rep. Green holds pivotal roles. He serves on the influential House Appropriations committee, responsible for steering the state budget. Additionally, he assumes the position of Republican vice chair on the Health and Human Services Appropriations subcommittee, while also contributing as a member on the Military and Veterans Affairs, State Police, and School Aid and Education Appropriations subcommittees. Furthermore, Rep. Green leads as the Chair of the American Legislative Exchange Council’s Energy, Environment, and Agriculture Committee, influencing policy in these crucial sectors. He actively participates as a board member for the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners and takes charge as the Chair of the 2nd Amendment Caucus for the 102nd Legislature.

Rep. Martus represents the 69th House District which encompasses, Flushing Township, clayton township, Flint Township, Mount Morris, Mount Morris Township, Swarts Creek, and parts of Montrose Township and Vienna township. Rep. Martus serves in House leadership as vice chair of the Democratic Caucus. In this position, he plays a pivotal role in building consensus amongst his colleagues on legislative priorities. His committee assignments reflect his goal of ensuring that Genesee County always has a seat at the table. These include the Appropriations Committee; Health and Human Services Subcommittee (vice chair); Labor and Economic Opportunity Subcommittee (vice chair); Agriculture and Natural Resources Subcommittee (vice chair); Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy Subcommittee; and Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and Insurance and Financial Services Subcommittee.

State Representative Amos O'Neal is now into his second term, diligently representing the 94th House District. This district encompasses a significant swath, including Bridgeport Township, Buena Vista Charter Township, Carrollton Township, Saginaw City, Saginaw Township, and Spaulding Township. Before assuming his current role, Rep. O'Neal contributed his skills and dedication to the Saginaw County Board of Commissioners and served on the Saginaw City Council. Presently, he holds several key positions within the legislative arena. Notably, he serves as the Majority Vice Chair for the State Appropriations Committee, guiding crucial financial decisions. Moreover, he chairs the Appropriations subcommittee on Corrections, plays a pivotal role as co-chair of Michigan's Legislative Sportsman's Caucus, and serves as Vice Chair of Michigan's Legislative Black Caucus.

Representative Bill G. Schuette represents the 95th House District, encompassing Midland County entirely, along with Beaverton, Billings, and Tobacco townships in Gladwin County. Within the legislative sphere, Rep. Schuette assumes pivotal roles. He holds a position on the House Appropriations Committee, steering financial decisions crucial for the state's welfare. Additionally, his influence extends as the Republican vice chair on the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs/Insurance and Financial Services Appropriations subcommittee.
