The Conference Center at SVSU offers beautiful, scenic ceremonial settings to capture the memories of those connected to the University* and outstanding facilities for dining and receptions.  We offer many options for elegant décor and those all about the fun and celebration, we have customized dance floors, adjustable room lighting and sound systems for the enjoyment of your guests.

A professional coordinator is dedicated to assisting you with the planning and design selections and provides on-site coordination throughout your event, making certain all details are covered. Founders Hall

The ideal location for the ceremony of your dreams. A spacious and elegant venue surrounded by stunning natural scenery, with seating for 145 guests. To view rates select Founders Hall Wedding Ceremony Rental Fees (1,839KB)

Banquet Rooms

Our spacious Banquet Rooms (61KB)  can adapt to any event. Rooms range from 2,500 to 10,000 square feet, fitting up to 400 people comfortably. Room rental is included in your wedding package.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can host their wedding at SVSU?

All wedding and reception reservations are exclusively available to those with a connection to SVSU. This means that yourself or an immediate family member is an alumni, student, faculty or staff member.

How many guests can the venue hold?

Founder’s Hall has seating for 146 ceremony guests. The Banquet Rooms can hold up to 400 people for your reception.

What is the facility rental fee?

The cost to rent Founders Hall for your wedding ceremony is $950. Banquet Room rental is included in your reception package. 

What will my reception package cost?

Food and bar costs can be viewed below. There are additional décor options available at an extra cost, including specialty color napkins, floor-length linens, chair rentals, etc. You will also pay 6% tax and a 20% service fee on the total reception invoice.

What is included with my wedding reception package?

Your wedding package includes:

  • Banquet Room Rental - up to 6 hours for your reception plus up to 8 hours of set up time
  • Tables for guest seating - 60" round or 6' rectangle
  • Specialty tables - hostess, cake, photo, high tops, etc.
  • Customizable, portable dance floor
  • Lap length white linen for guest tables
  • Floor length cloth & skirt for head table
  • Selection of house color napkins - white, black, red or navy
  • A professional & dedicated venue coordinator throughout the planning process
  • China, silverware, & stemware
  • Convenient & complimentary parking
  • Invitation to annual group food tasting
  • Event Insurance

Are outside caterers allowed for our reception?

No.  Due to licensing restrictions, all food, and beverages, including alcohol, must be purchased through the Conference Center.  Please note this excludes special occasion cakes.  A group menu tasting to help you select your ideal menu is included with your selection of a wedding package.

When must our reception end by?

All events must end no later than 11:00pm. All guests should be out of the Banquet Rooms by that time.

Can I store items or decorations overnight?

No, any items brought in must be removed the night of the wedding. We are not able to store personal materials. Please designate someone to pick up any items and take them when the leave the wedding.

How much is the deposit?

The deposit to confirm your wedding date is $950. If you are holding your reception at SVSU, a schedule of additional payments would be established at the time that your contract is signed. Final payment is due one week prior to your wedding date.

Dining

Discover the wide variety of menu possibilities created by our classically trained chefs in our first-class facilities. We offer sophisticated served meals and delicious buffet options for a delectable, memorable meal that will delight your guests. You can also choose from our selection of reception items for pre or post-dinner.

We have a full selection of hospitality services. We provide beverage and bar packages including non-alcoholic beverages. All arrangements for hospitality services are handled by the University.

Decor

In addition to the standard linen, The Conference Center at SVSU offers a wide variety of services to enhance your event including centerpieces, specialty linens, ice sculptures, and/or personalized décor for an additional charge.

Outside decorations brought by the client or event party are subject to approval in advance by the event coordinator before arrangements are finalized.
