Charter Collaborative Grant Opportunities

The Charter Collaborative is pleased to offer Innovation Grant opportunities to support creative, high-impact initiatives that enhance teaching and learning within Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) authorized public school academies.

The purpose of these awards is to support projects that demonstrate the use of innovative pedagogy to address an identified learning need as reflected in the academy’s Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP). Through these grants, The Charter Collaborative seeks to encourage innovative instructional practices, foster student achievement, and provide resources for initiatives that align with each academy’s educational mission and strategic priorities.

For the 2026–2027 school year, the following grant opportunities are available:

• School Innovation Grant – Up to $15,000 per academy building to support school-wide initiatives that promote innovation, improve student outcomes, and advance strategic priorities identified in the academy’s Continuous Improvement Plan.
• Teacher/Staff Innovation Grant – Up to $1,000 per grant (up to two grants per building) to empower teachers and staff to implement innovative classroom, department, or student-centered projects that address identified learning needs and positively impact student engagement and achievement.

Grant proposals should clearly demonstrate innovation, alignment with the academy’s Continuous Improvement Plan, measurable outcomes, sustainability, and a meaningful benefit to students and the academy community.
