WINTER 2022 Exhibition Schedule

17th ANNUAL ART STUDENT EXHIBITION

January 10 – February 4, 2022
Reception: January 20th, 4 - 6 p.m.

This exhibition will include the work of SVSU art students from all levels created during the past year and will include multiple disciplines taught within the art curriculum including; photography, painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture and three-dimensional design.  Students participating are: Jericho Long, Taylor Lemke, Ava Rummler, and Elizabeth Terry. For more information.

 

ELIJAH VAN BENSCHOTEN: Distant

February 14 – March 16, 2022
Public Lecture: March 3rd, 3 p.m.   Reception: March 3rd, 4 – 6 p.m.

The daily disciplined approach to VanBenschoten’s work is rooted in traditional leanings toward a love of paint and materials. Incorporating digital media with traditional techniques lends itself to the postmodern mixing of memes with historic undertones as he explores the relationship of figure to environment with humor, investigation and drama. Van Benschoten is a nationally and internationally exhibiting mixed media artist educator residing in Cincinnati OH. For more information.

 

HIGH SCHOOL ART INVITATIONAL

March 22 - April 8, 2022
Reception: March 31st, 4 – 6 p.m.

For some, the creative process starts at a very young age but doesn't come into fruition until the high school years. The Art Department at SVSU strongly supports this stage of creative development by high school students. This exhibition honors and celebrates the creative work being done through the efforts of high school teachers and their students. The work in this exhibition consists of a variety of different mediums including digital design, photography, painting, ceramics, and drawings. For more information.

 

WINTER BFA Exhibition

April 18 – May 6, 2022
Reception: April 21st, 4 - 6 p.m.

This exhibition features artwork by the Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates and serves as a completion of their undergraduate program. Exhibiting students include candidates in the disciplines of graphic design, photography and painting. For more information.
