SVSU welcomed middle school students from across Michigan for a week full of technology and hands-on STEM experiences at Camp Infinity from July 28-August 1. Throughout the week, participants engaged in interactive programming in a variety of applications.
Camp Infinity is a collaborative effort led by the Michigan Council for Women in Technology, in partnership with SVSU, to provide youngsters with early exposure to computer science and coding concepts in a supportive, engaging environment.

From August 22 to September 26, the Support Staff Association and University Police invite the SVSU community to come together for Pack the Pantry, a campuswide initiative to restock the Cardinal Food Pantry for the start of the semester.
The pantry provides free, anonymous access to nutritious food for SVSU students facing food insecurity. Last academic year alone, it served over 4,000 students and distributed more than 19,000 pounds of food — and demand continues to rise. With no recurring funding, the pantry relies heavily on donations from our campus community.
Whether you’re donating food items, kitchen supplies, hygiene items or dollars, your support helps ensure every Cardinal has what they need to succeed. The goal is to collect 4,000 total combined items and dollars, and every bit counts.

Support Students Through Payroll Deduction
|
Good news: Starting in early September, employees will be able to set up new payroll deduction commitments to make gifts to SVSU.
Payroll deduction is one of the simplest ways for SVSU employees to financially support SVSU students and their higher education dreams. Employee contributions also help boost student recruitment and retention, as well as inspire support from foundations and donors who value employee involvement.
While existing 2025 payroll deductions made before March have continued without issue, new deductions have been on hold due to the Workday transition.

SVSU Riverfront is available to use, at no charge, by university and community groups; an individual affiliated with SVSU must be present with outside groups.
To reserve space, contact Jamie Garcia, special projects coordinator at jlgarcia@svsu.edu or (989) 964-2520.

|
Early this year, the Office of University Communications introduced a refreshed brand identity, complete with updated colors and new logo sets.
Cardinal red is the primary color of SVSU, reflecting our Red Pride. Navy is our bold secondary color. The combination of red and navy is unique among Michigan's higher education institutions. Gold is an accent color and should only be used as a highlight.
For more information, including specific color codes, visit the Brand Standards section of the Creative Hub.
