Jennifer Ward, assistant professor of teacher education, has received a Fulbright Specialist Program award. She will complete a two-week project at Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakesh, Morocco, on April 30.
The Fulbright Specialist Program sends U.S. faculty and professionals to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects at academic institutions abroad for a period of two to four weeks. Ward is providing workshops for undergraduate teacher education students at the Moroccan university and is also participating in a university forum.
“All of my work focuses on inclusive education, particularly for students with disabilities,” Ward said. She will submit a report to Fulbright once the project is completed.
Ward joined the SVSU faculty in 2023. She serves as president of the Division of International Special Education and Services (DISES) of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), special education’s oldest and largest professional organization. She holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of San Francisco.
